Our Story  (Japanese)

We met Ms.Asato who teaches Japanese at Punahou school, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA through international mailing list for teachers called IECC and we started to exchange with her class. Both students are communicating via email and bulletin board with in English or English/Japanese or Japanese/English depending on the class.

Our goal is to understand each culture and learn English/Japanese with talking about their real life.

In July, 2000, Ms.Asato visited our school all day and she interviewed many students, took video and photos so much for her class. Especially she spent time of lunch (Bento) and students' cleaning restroom enough.

On May 19, 2001, we had the first Video Conference between my research class and her class with CUSeeMe soft ware. It was so great that we promised we have it regularly. The below is the Video Conference list which we have done. (Click to any dates to see each session)

On June 10th, 2005, Friday afternoon. Ms.Asato and her six students visited our school during their Japan tour. After saying hello to Principal and some teachers and students who were school buddies and host family, they attended English classes at 5th and 6th period. They participate in the debate about American Culture there and they shared a wonderful time under the view of same age.

And also, three of them had home-stay for 2 night and 3 days, weekend at students' places. They experienced Japanese home and it made them remember it deeply as wonderful memory.
