2nd Video Coference with Kolej Yayasan Saad Melaka, Malyasia

Thursday, 13:00 - 14:10  on July 1, 2004
(12F00 - 13F10 in Malaysia)

Participants :1st grader (10th) students volunteered (Japanese ) (Malaysian web page)

We arranged 2nd Video Conference (V/C) here because our last V/C on April 22 had Audio problem and had not enough time to discuss. We had harmonized the Date/Time between both schools and it was settled down on Thursday at 13:00 - (at 12:00 - Malaysian time), July 1, in After school (class cancelled by parents' interview week ) for us, at lunch break for Malaysia.

The V/C system which we used is CUSeeMe Web server and it's client soft ware on the school network of Saitama-ken, which is run by the Board of Education. We connected at 12:00 and started the device check. We needed to reset it some times, finally Video and Audio worked well at both side.  Our students came up to PC lab and they prepared their job, at same time, some teachers in Malaysia side came up to Camera and said hello to our side.  Our students responded and small talking was begun, it was pleasant time.  About 1:20, both students gathered in front of camera and started real session by both students. After 1 hour, they finished their VC with promising to meet again and waved SAYONARA, good-bye.

For Next,
All devices worked very well at this time. But our preparation was not completed, especially we had no enough time to study about Malaysian geography and culture. Malaysian students know about Japan well and we need to do as much as they did. And also while V/C, our students used chat window to talk and confirm what to do next more than speaking English, they have to talk by them selves more and more next time.  --< It was true that they could not listened to clear voice through speaker (device)! >--
